The Band

Oliver Kinsey-Smith

DoB: 24th June 1986

Plays: Guitars, Mandolin, Mellotron, Viola, Vocals
Hello. I am Oliver. I'm slower than your average. Slow person. I like; tea, Mezzo Mix, bed, Philip Larkin, xylophones, running to places/people, running away from places/people, Mr. Bean, Germany, lettuce soup. I dislike; boats, Copenhagen, most alcohol, 'rugger buggers', commoners, idiots, tories, lefties, arty farty types with scarfs, waking up, working, complaining, stubbing your toe on the door, driving, hair gel, burberry, Jamiroquai, R&B, Dublin, my old school, snogging, John Milton, Stilton, cheese in general. I will shortly be in Ghana, and you'll never find me there.

Ed Pulford

DoB: 30th January 1986

Plays: Bass, Piano, Vocals, Door
My real name is not Maxim Gorky. My plans for the future involve being gunned down in a St. Petersburg Street later this year. After that, if found I intend to lie still for a very, very long time. I like to play bass guitar.

Harriet Foster Taylor

DoB: 8th August 1987

Plays: Drums, Percussion, Backing Vocals
Harriet can't be bothered to write a profile so I'm doing it for her. Harriet enjoys courtly behaviour such as singing, sewing, painting and playing the lute and other activities that become a young lady. In her spare time she bites the heads off bats and sleeps hanging upside down in her cupboard.

Jonathan Sharpe

DoB: 26th March 1986

Plays: Guitars, Slide, Vocals
I am a dull person, so this should be short. I like: drinking, summer, Dublin, playing guitar or any combination of the above. I dislike lots of things and people, too many to list. This week I are been mostly listening to: "Green and Gray" by Nickel Creek and "Gone" by Ben Folds. Want to know anything else? Either stalk or email me, whichever you'd prefer.

Other notable people who help us out from time to time:
Tim Middleton Recording engineer, soundman, sound man and grade A leg-end. Tim helped us out at the NHS recording sessions, and will be reappearing at future gigs to make us sound good. It's hardly a full time job though is it!
Oliver Senior Aka "Walls" or "Fingers", or even just "Beast on Wheels." Part time bassist, full time leg-end. The picture on the right is Oliver very drunk at Jon's 18th. Don't worry if you missed it, it won't be the last time. Other notable times this has happened include the 2004 NYO Christmas Ball, where he donned a pair of stilletos, insisted that his name was Lola and proceeded to chat up foliage and furniture, (apparently the sofa was having none of it so he settled for a lamp.) Also plays for Corner 7.
David Sharpe Sibling, official photographer, clothing supplier: you name it, Dave can do it or just say he will until you get bored of asking and do it yourself. Nobody's sure how he got this shot as he was in fact the photographer as well, but we'll let him have his mysteries.
Matt Turner Master of strange foreign percussion, and of looking like members of the royal family, (he loves it when you call him that!) the "Artist Occasionally Known As" helped us win the 2004 Battle of the Bands, drummed with us at the 2004 NYO Christmas Ball and appeared on the recording of "Passengers..." from the NHS session. Marimba anyone?
Geoff Williams Aka "Jazzy Geoff" or simply "the Unit." Part time vocals and keys, this guy knows how to have a good time. Especially notable for his poor gig attendance, (Derby? Party? Ridiculous,) and his ability to find alcohol; anytime, anywhere.
